A die nut, also known as a hexagon die or a hex die, is a type of die that has a hexagonal shape with internal threads. It is designed to be screwed onto the end of a bolt or rod to help cut or repair threads. A die nut is commonly used in a manual threading process and can be held with a wrench or pliers. It is usually smaller and lighter than a button die.
